Jolán néni szüleivel, 13 testvérével Bárdoson élte gyerekkorát, az iskola után ő is a családi gazdaságban tevékenykedett. 25 évesen házasodott meg, két gyermeke született. Férje a postán dolgozott, Joli néni a háztartást vezette. Vépen családi házat építettek, ahol 13 évig éltek együtt. Férje halála után költözött Szombathelyre és idős nagybátyját ápolta.
